Citizens of a competitive country form the basis of a competitive state. The competitiveness of a state is closely related to the level of development of technical sciences in the country. Technical sciences, first of all, rely on mathematics. Therefore, the problem of mathematical education in the country is a problem of the state level. It is also impossible to deny that the mathematical knowledge and literacy of a child in each country depend on a mathematics teacher. Therefore, the training of high-quality mathematics teachers is an important state measure.
In the Astana region, the Tselinograd State Pedagogical Institute used to help solve this problem, but now this task lies on the shoulders of the Eurasian National University, which was formed on the basis of the merger of the aforementioned educational institution with the Tselinograd Civil Engineering Institute. , or more precisely, on the shoulders of the Mechanics and Mathematics Department of this university.
The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics consists of five departments. The responsibilities of these departments include the formation and improvement of knowledge of NSU students in higher mathematics. However, the Department of Algebra and Geometry is responsible for the training of mathematics teachers. The department teaches a series of subjects related to the problems of teaching school mathematics, including "Higher Algebra" and "Higher Geometry". A number of subjects related to "general methods of teaching mathematics" and "individual methods of teaching mathematics" are taught at the bachelor's degree. Ualbay Omirbaev, who found a solution to the "Nagata problem", is the reason for the promotion of the department to the National University. Currently, representatives of Omirbaev's school work at the department, along with other specialists.
